Cultural Explorations

Journey of the Drum is a Community Service initiative of the “Voices Of Africa” Choral & Percussion Ensemble. This program brings inspiring workshops and/or concert presentations to Women’s centers around the US and Abroad. Their hope is to link up with organizations that are servicing women who have been limited in their development by poverty, physical and sexual abuse, disenfranchisement, neglect and homelessness. They aim to inspire these women through their culturally artistic presentations and empower them through their focused groups on becoming independent entrepreneurs using the arts.

American Women in Radio & Television (AWRT) is the national non-profit organization that extends membership to qualified professionals in the media. Our mission is to advance the impact of women in the media and allied fields by educating, advocating and acting as a resource to our members, the industry and the public. Founded in 1951, AWRT works to promote diversity and strengthen the influence of women in the vast media community.
