To All Wisconsin Women = Prosperity Regional Solutions Network members
From Barbara Lawton , Lt. Governor
During the past year, I have worked with leading Wisconsin corporations which boast state and national recognition for their exemplary and profitable practices in creating forward-thinking workplace climates that help them recruit and retain a top-performing workforce. They form my Corporate Advisory Board. Lead members include such award-winning corporations as Harley-Davidson, Manpower, S.C. Johnson, Smith Barney, Alliant Energy, Briggs & Stratton and Quad Graphics.
From February 13 through March 28, 2006, I and members of the Corporate Advisory Board will embark on an eight region “Raise the Grade Tour,” to be hosted by noon Rotary clubs across Wisconsin. With stops in Green Bay, Madison, Wausau, Racine, La Crosse, Eau Claire, Janesville and Milwaukee, the Tour aims to share information about the importance and profitability of establishing effective practices to support the success of women in the workplace.
The Tour will showcase how forward-thinking personnel policies that support women and families are improving women’s workplace success and overall corporate performance. Each Tour stop will also recognize an area employer that is a local leader in supporting the success of women. The Tour will highlight these effective practices and demonstrate, for a broad range of employers, how they may successfully adopt them in their own workplace. These Wisconsin corporate leaders are creating an unprecedented public resource to support families and grow the bottom line for businesses.
The following is a list of tour stops and the CAB member who will accompany me as a featured speaker:
2/13/06 Green Bay - Linda Pelej of Manpower Inc.
2/15/06 Madison - Peggy Patterson of Harley-Davidson
2/20/06 Wausau - Melanie Holmes of Manpower Inc.
2/22/06 Racine
2/23/06 LaCrosse - James Carlson of Smith Barney/CitiGroup
2/27/06 Eau Claire - Kathi Seifert, formerly of Kimberly-Clark
3/06/06 Janesville - Barbara Swan of Alliant Energy
3/28/06 Milwaukee - Maria Campbell of SC Johnson
I was thrilled when the downtown noon Rotary Clubs in each of those cities graciously agreed to be our host. All of them invite their members to bring a guest or two, so please contact a friend who is a member in your area club so that you may attend if you like. The following clubs are able to open their meeting to all interested community members, and ask that you RSVP at least a week ahead to the listed email:
