Courtney Reed Jenkins served as Secretary on the Wisconsin Women = Prosperity Board. As a representative for State Superintendent of Public Instruction Elizabeth Burmaster, she served on the Steering Committee, the Advisory Cabinet and co-chaired the Educational Achievement task force.

Courtney is a nationally recognized expert on gender equity in education and has over ten years experience working in the public and not-for-profit sector on issues affecting the status of women and girls. Through her current service at the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, she has facilitated more than 100 trainings regarding equity in education, written legal decisions regarding special education, and published articles on the subjects of minority student achievement and recruiting and retaining young women in math, science, and technology. She sits on several national and state boards and committees that focus on gender equity in education. Courtney has a Juris Doctor, Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Iowa. Her career includes program administration for a women’s resource and action center, a domestic violence shelter, an at-risk youth leadership program, a juvenile mediation program, and a women’s foundation.
