Schools and Daycare Centers Seek Volunteers
Many schools and childcare centers are seeking volunteer help. Enclosed is a list of specific educational organizations and their needs. For more information, contact Deb Lukovich at dlukovich@wi.rr.com or visit Alinea, LLC.
- Jared C. Bruce Academy — Will host a volunteer orientation session on October 22nd for community members who wish to put their talent, time and money to work helping this organization achieve it’s vision to work together with Mason Temple Church of God in Christ to become a successful community center for the Thurston Woods neighborhood. Visit Jared C. Bruce.
- House of Love Youth Homes, Inc. — Will host a volunteer orientation session on October 23rd for community members who wish to put their talent, time and money to work helping this organization achieve it’s vision to launch a new transition facility for the teens they serve that age out of the foster care system. Visit House of Love to learn more.
- St. Marcus Church Lutheran School — On November 14th, St. Marcus will host its Annual Gala to raise money for it’s nationally-recognized choice school. We have become part of the St. Marcus family during the past two years as we assist them in driving a $12 million capital campaign to achieve their vision of becoming a community center that meets the needs of the surrounding neighborhood. Please consider attending one of the most exquisite gala’s I’ve ever attended or supporting their work with a donation.
- Day Care Services for Children, Inc. — Needs a talented-person to donate time to repair it’s neglected website. This amazing child care organization was founded in 1920 and served as a pilot for the successful federal Head Start program.
- Milwaukee Renaissance Academy is an independent public school chartered through UWM that serves sixth through eighth grade. This school has done amazing work with it’s students, and they have the outcomes to prove it. They are seeking new board members with talent in the areas of fund development, capital campaigns, public relations and marketing.
