SDC’s Call for Testimonials on the Issue of Black Male Joblessness in Milwaukee

On Thursday June 18th the Social Development Commission held a public hearing on the issue of black male joblessness in Milwaukee. Over 190 individuals attended this hearing and 30 individuals submitted their comments on this issue. These comments included personal stories of struggle, barriers to employment and ideas for how our community can better address this issue.

SDC will continue to collect written testimony from the community for the next few weeks. Attached is a written testimony form for your convenience. Please take a moment to share your experiences, thoughts and ideas. Your testimony will be included in the official public record on this issue and will help guide SDC’s policy recommendations and program development. Feel free to circulate this document throughout the community-our goal is to receive comments from as many people as possible.
