Aurora Foundation Seeks a President

As President Aurora Foundation, imagine yourself:
- Leveraging your strategic skills to restructure the Aurora Foundation and Board.
- Developing and maintaining a fund raising strategy that continually positions Aurora as a non-profit organization.
- Overseeing the development of community resources, including volunteers and advisory groups, to promote involvement and participation in the Foundation.
- Representing the Foundation in relationships with other institutions, organizations or associations that affect the Foundation.
- Planning, organizing and directing all financial development programs of the Foundation.
- Developing and overseeing the planning and preparation of short-and long-range objectives, plans, budgets, procedures and standards of the Foundation.
- Developing an overarching development framework that responsibly utilizes Aurora’s scarce resources.
- Managing a donor and prospect portfolio to secure transformational, major and deferred leadership level gifts.
- Assisting with the identification, evaluation and cultivation of target groups and individuals for development efforts
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with all segments of the hospital and system to enhance support for development programs.
General Qualifications
- Advance level of knowledge of marketing, communications, and general business practices, equivalent to that which would be acquired by completing a regionally accredited master’s degree program.
- Knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform this job are typically acquired through a minimum of ten years of progressively responsible experiences in managing institutional development programs with significant experience and success in major gift campaigns in higher education, hospital or academic medical center environment.
- Leadership experience should include management of staff, budgets and multiple fund raising functions at the executive level.
- Demonstrated knowledge of various fund development programs (i.e. major, planned, and annual giving).
- Must have prior knowledge of planned giving/trust experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of tax laws that impact charitable giving, personal assets and estates.
- Knowledge of planned giving instruments/charitable remainder trusts, gift annuities, pooled income contracts and life insurance trusts.
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills necessary.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with employees, donors, physicians, corporate leaders, and other professionals.
- Must be sales oriented with proven abilities in market research, cold calling, prospect identification, research and analysis, and closing.
- Demonstrated ability to develop strategic and tactical plans to meet business objectives in a large healthcare system.
